When you insert the USB key containing the update for your navigation system, with the ignition or engine running, it is automatically detected within seconds and the iDrive console displays a message regarding the update.
If not, the USB drive was probably prepared incorrectly. Please consult our article on common mistakes to avoid to ensure you have properly extracted the archive.
Is your USB drive formatted as FAT32 (or exFAT for WAY, LIVE, EVO5 or 6 maps)? Did you properly extract the map to the root of the drive?
